Description
Standing Bound Arms Head Between Knees Pose is a wide-legged standing forward fold with head in between the knees. This pose gives a good stretch to the back muscles, and stimulates the lower abdominal organs.
Preparations of the pose include standing swinging forward bend, Bhunamasana hips and back stretch, spider pose, forward bend twisting locking the arms.
To perform the pose, bend from the hips and place the palms on the floor. Slightly bend the knees and tuck the right shoulder inside the legs. Bring the left shoulder inside the legs and open the elbows and chest. Bend the elbows and support the head. Straighten the legs and look up.
This pose can be modified with the arms extending sideways or palms in prayer pose.
Variations can proceed by bringing the arms around the thighs and fingers interlocked at the back.
